Recently in my book the setting has been switching. The overall setting is in New York. They have been switching from under ground worlds. The author, Cassandra Clare, does a good job letting the reader know where the setting is and exactly what it looks like. She shows you what they look like, what they are looking at, and every thing else.
She sets the mood too. She does this by showing emotion, like saying how they are sweating or a cold shiver going down her spine. She put two characters that are opposite. Jace is more serious, but still has a little humor. Clary is more openminded, but gets overwhelmed. Through all of this she makes it clear that the mood of City Of Bones is scary and intense.
Sounds like a really good book. I have heard many reviews on this book, good choice!
