LOTF Responce

One of the most important scenes in Lord Of The Flies is when Simon is talking to the pig head. The pig head is called The Lord Of The Flies. It is called this because there are flies surrounding his head. The pig represents the devil in some ways. Beelzebub is considered to be Satan or Satan's right hand man. The weird thing is that Beelzebub is a fly just like Lord Of The Flies. He tries to make sure there is chaos on the island.

In the scene, Simon is talking to the pig head. Simon wants to go to the top of the island, but the pig wants him not to because he knows the dead body is there. If Simon sees the dead body he will know that there isn't really a beast. That is bad for the pig because the pig wants chaos. Also, the pig tells Simon he will die if he goes up there. It turns out that he goes up there and he does die. This scene is like the part in the Bible when Jesus is temped in the desert by the devil. This scene is very important because this is why the book was named Lord Of The Flies and it has a lot of allusions.

  1. There are so many allusions in Lord of the Flies. This is important because when Simon went and saw the dead body, he got killed.

  2. I like how you used the connection of Beelzebub to The Lord of the Flies. You did a good job with this blog post.
