Thanksgiving is a wonderful time. It is when the weather is cooler, the leaves change color, and we give thanks. One of my family traditions is to go to our hunting camp. We have a huge lunch and dinner in the main hall. All of our immediate and extended family is their along with our close family friends that we call family. We all visit because we don't get to see each other very often. We also play cards, go four wheeling, and swim in the creek even though it is chilly. Finally, the day after the dinner all the men and some of the girls go hunting.
After the big hunt, we all go to the cleaning shed to see what everyone killed. It's kind of gross there, so we don't stay there long. We then go back to the camp and start a bonfire. It's is huge, warm, and brings everyone together. We roast marshmallow and tell stories. Then all the kids usually, go play soccer or capture the flag or something. It is a good time to spend with family and be thankful for everyone around.
I saw you writing this. It is good. It sounds fun.
ReplyDeleteSounds fun! But the dead animals part is gross.
ReplyDeleteI love to hunt so I can relate to this post. Sounds like an excellent Thanksgiving at the camp.
