Counting By 7's

Counting By 7's is written by Holly Goldburg Sloan is about a very smart girl. Then her parents pass away. I felt very bad for Willow because she didn't have any friends before her parents died. When they died it made her very sad. Thankfully she made a couple of really good friends that helped her through that hard time in her life.

One strategy I used reading Counting By 7's  was to put yourself in the character's shoes. Each chapter the narrator would switch making it hard to understand. You had to pretend to be Willow or  Dell. It was easier to understand Dell because you easily relate to him. It was more difficult to understand Willow because I have never lost both my parents and not have a place to stay.

  1. I also read this book as a summer reading choice book. I also felt bad for Willow because her parents died. It makes you want to put yourself in the character's shoes, which is one of the strategies you used while reading. I agree that it was more difficult to understand Willow because I have never lost both of my parents either.
